How To Solo...Quick Tip: Using C & D Triad Pairs to Imply D Mixolydian Over a D7 Jam. Here's a great idea to use triads in a melodic way. Pairing adjacent triads will highlight the color tones over a single chord jam, so you can imply your modes without using scales. This example uses C and D over a D7 track so the C E G, will be the b7 9 11 over the D, and directly give us the two color notes of D Mixolydian, b7 and 4. You can try this over other chords in the key to get different modes. I'll share some ideas soon. Have fun with this for now!

NOTE: If the shapes I'm using are unfamiliar to you, I have been doing a very basic weeks long video and TAB series on Triads in the subscriber section on Facebook. For just $1.99, you can join up to show support for what I do and for access to more content that you can't find anywhere else, including Live lessons, video lessons, tabs, etc. https://www.facebook.com/gabeteachesguitar/subscribe/

To schedule lessons with me in the Los Angeles area or to schedule online lessons, please go to my website for more information: http://www.thelordofthestrings.com

I'm also teaching on Til, so you can schedule a private lesson with me RIGHT NOW! Be on the lookout for new group classes starting soon too, but FYI, FB subscribers find out first: https://www.til.co/gabeisaac/lessons
