In this video, I demonstrate how to strum a guitar using 4 strums per pulse. In video 1 I did ONE STRUM/PULSE. In video 2, TWO STRUMS/PULSE. Now we are at FOUR STRUMS/PULSE. These are what I call the BASIC STRUMMING MECHANISMS and they serve as starting templates from which we can make decisions about how to strum to a song based on what we hear in the song.

Strumming is the most frequent activity recreational guitarists do. Make sure you're doing it RIGHT!
My flagship course GUITAR STRUMMING DIY can help give you the tools to strum BY EAR! The alternative is to stay stuck on strumming patterns which will tend to make all your songs start to sound the same.
