Hey, guitar enthusiasts! Lauren Bateman here, and in this lesson, I’m going to show you how to play "I Can See Clearly Now" by Johnny Nash. This is a fantastic song with mostly open chords, making it great for beginners. You’ll need D, G, A, C, and Fmaj7—and if you’re comfortable, there’s also a C#m and Bm barre chord in the instrumental section. But don’t worry! You can still play along even if you skip those parts.

I’ll walk you through three different strumming patterns—what I hear in the original, an easier version for singing and playing, and how the rhythm shifts in the chorus. We’ll also break down how to transition between strumming patterns smoothly, which is a great skill to develop!
