The song, said to be written by Dee Dee Ramone, was released in 1976 on their debut album, Ramones. “I Don't Wanna Walk Around With You” is a song without ambiguity. Back off, keep your distance… I don't wanna walk around with you! In typical Ramones fashion, this commanding song demonstrates the rawness exemplified by their origins. Written at the beginning of 1974, and included on their first demo with Sire Records, this song was one of the earliest Ramones compositions.

Brown Bear sits tall on the shelf, his muscular form exuding strength and defiance. With his arms crossed firmly over his chest, he stares defiantly at his nemesis, clearly uninterested in any interaction. As an obvious barrier, a heavy growl in his voice signals his desire for solitude, as he repeats the words that he does not wish to be disturbed. The air is tense, and the message is clear… Brown Bear values his space and is prepared to defend it. He is otherwise sweet, but only the Ramones can soothe his occasional ferocious behavior. ????????

We recorded this cover on 12/01/24 in our basement studio, on 6 separate tracks (vocals, lead guitar, bass guitar, bass drum, toms/snare, and cymbals) using a Zoom H6 audio interface, and mixed with GarageBand. Sennheiser HD-660S2 headphones, and an AudioEngine DAC3 amplifier, help to balance the sound in order to highlight each instrument during the mixing process.
