Hey there, rockabilly enthusiasts!
I'm thrilled to share our latest track, "I Still Believe." Originally inspired by the smooth and heartfelt style of Ricky Nelson, this tune took on a life of its own during the creative process. What started as a classic rockabilly love song quickly evolved into something rawer, more energetic, and undeniably electrifying—bringing to mind the untamed spirit of early Gene Vincent and the Blue Caps. Additionally, it carries a vibe reminiscent of the Rock and Roll Trio, capturing that authentic 1950s rockabilly essence.
The song tells the story of unshakable devotion, following a man deeply in love with a girl who seems out of reach. Despite rejection, he clings to hope, declaring, "I still believe" that someday she'll realize his love is true.
With twangy guitar riffs, a driving rhythm, and a vocal delivery that oozes energy, this track brings vintage rockabilly to life in a fresh and dynamic way. If you love the raw, unfiltered energy of the 1950s rockabilly scene, this one's for you.
At this point, I like to imagine it could have been one of the lost demos brought by Johnny Burnette to Ricky Nelson. In fact, the Burnette brothers, Johnny and Dorsey, were instrumental in shaping Nelson's rockabilly sound, penning hits like "Believe What You Say" and "Waitin' in School."
