If you want to learn how to take your guitar licks up to the next level then you need to know as much as you possibly can about a topic called “phrasing.” When it comes to playing smooth well connected lines the subject of phrasing is the best way to study playing better lead guitar.
In this video, I’m going to show you how to get to the answers when it comes to integrating a few very important concepts about phrasing guitar licks. These concepts will help your licks connect better so that in the end your licks come together as more interesting rhythmically and more balanced melodically.
The fastest way to better phrasing is to focus is on horn players. Brass & woodwind players need to breathe, so they plan their expressions by integrating space into each musical section for their next breath of air.
Adding space can be a real dilemma for many guitarists, which is why so many guitar players often play too many notes. But, adding space is not all we need to understand. The other topic is “phrasing devices.” This topic is one of the serious areas of weakness and in this lesson we’ll learn several great ways to bring more phrasing devices into your guitar playing.
