A very special KALX Live! dedicated to experimental & improvised music on Saturday, August 31st.
The night featured Katie (fiddle and theremin player extraordinaire) coming to us from Alameda. A lifelong violinist, she primarily plays recreational jazz in and around the Bay Area. She’s now taken to theremin, absolutely fascinated at the intersection of analog and electronic. When she’s not behind a Moog Etherwave, Katie can be found playing pinball with her husband, cruising in her 1993 VW convertible or taking the cat out for a leashed walk.
Other performers included Ethan (a professional guitar teacher for more than 15 years), Troy (on drums), Lukas (on saxophone and contra alto clarinet), Spyce (on vocals), Djajuku Dobre, and Robert. Weird out in style with us!
