The modern drum kit is a large and complicated instrument, with each part having it's own unique stick response and voice. Because of this difference between how different parts of the kit respond, it's our responsibility as drummers to make sure we're balancing each part of the kit correctly while we play; this 'self-mixing' process is called "internal dynamics'!

In this lesson Nick takes us through a few exercises to put our control of internal dynamics to the test, and develop them for a more balanced and controlled kit sound.
