The label was accused of laundering around $1 million through Kenneth "Supreme" McGriff, which Ja Rule called ridiculous. He explained that McGriff was a longtime friend who wasn't affiliated with the label, but got help from Def Jam to start making movies. Ja Rule says that McGriff's prior convictions got the attention of the feds, who then started making accusations against Irv Gotti and Murder Inc.
