Clyde Jackson Browne is an American singer, songwriter, musician, and activist who emerged in the 1960s Los Angeles music scene. Known for his intimate and melodic songs, he helped define the soft California rock sound of the 1970s. Browne has sold more than 30 million albums in the US and is known for his advocacy for human rights, environmental and social justice, and arts education.
