Following up on the lesson for the main riff in Black Mountain Side, as recorded by Jimmy Page on the first Led Zeppelin album, we’re now going to take a look at the second section.

Once again we’re using hybrid picking and not only do we have the guitar in Celtic tuning, DADGAD, but also we are dropping down a semitone, also known as a half step.

Black Mountain Side is, of course, the solo acoustic guitar piece, recorded by Jimmy Page on the first Led Zeppelin album.

It is based on a traditional folk song called Black Waterside that was recorded and released by Bert Jansch on his 1966 album, Jack Orion.

It's a great tune to work on and one that will help all round with your playing ability.

I'll make be making the lessons for the other sections of the tune shortly, and mixing them in with the regular blues guitar lessons.
