JO1 is a global male idol group in Japan. The affiliation is LAPONE Entertainment, a joint venture between Yoshimoto Kogyo and CJ ENM, a Korean entertainment company.
Formed by 11 successful applicants of the audition program "PRODUCE 101 JAPAN", they made their debut with "PROTOSTAR" on March 4, 2020 [1]. The group name has the meaning of "the trainees who aimed at their dreams together in" PRODUCE 101 JAPAN "will become one and aim for the top of the world" [2]. The official fan name is "JAM"
