John Winston Ono Lennon was an English singer, songwriter, musician, and political activist who co-founded the Beatles and played rhythm guitar and co-lead vocals. His partnership with Paul McCartney is considered history's most successful songwriting collaboration. Lennon was also a solo recording artist, author, graphic artist, and collaborator with Yoko Ono. Lennon was raised by his aunt Mimi after his father left the family.
