Combining hypnotic breakbeat grooves with morphing textures and psychedelic bass sound design, Kalya Scintilla / Merkaba is a force to be reckoned with, but his impressive style isn't out of reach.
As with most psy / world bass / glitch hop - groove comes first. A good drum and sub bass pattern sets the stage for experimentation with sampler instruments, textures, and mid basses. Lucky for us Vital can do all of this, even imitating real instruments with some creative Karplus-Strong methods.
