In this guitar lesson we will learn all the major and minor chords on the guitar using the CAGED system. CAGED system means that you can hold the C, A, G, E, D chords in the first three frets and using the barre you can hold all the other chords on the guitar. This way you can learn and cover all of the fretboard. If you really know and understand hand positions and notes, you can play literally thousands of chords on your guitar. None of the eight basic open chords contain notes higher than the third fret, so your hand doesn't have to move anywhere to switch between them. All kinds of basic chords are not something to play the first time, but something you can build on. Many of these chords require you to pinch the strings you are playing without touching adjacent open strings. A barre chord involves touching multiple strings with your finger at the same time, rather than simply tapping a specific note with your fingertip.
