This fingerstyle guitar lesson is part of a guitar course that teaches you how to play the guitar fingerpicking style, and whilst fingerstyle is most commonly used on acoustic guitars you can also play this style with electric guitar. Hopefully if you watch each of the guitar lessons in this course and practice what you are learning you will become an accomplished fingerstyle guitarist.
Finger picking style guitar is used in virtually all styles of music and therefore is really useful to learn. Whilst finger picking guitar is most associated with acoustic guitar you don't need to learn fingerpicking guitar on an acoustic guitar as it can sound just as good on an electric guitar. Fingerstyle guitar is used in classical guitar, folk, bluegrass, rock, blues, jazz and virtually any style of guitar you can mention.
How to play the classical Spanish guitar tune. Romanza or Romance by Bartolomé Calatayud (Bartolome Calatayud) which is part of a collection of tunes called 'Cuatro Piezas Faciles Para Guitarra' or 'Four easy pieces for guitar'.
Bartolomé Calatayud was born on the island of Mallorca in 1882.
In 1899, he took the 1st Class Diploma honors class given by the Workers Instructive Center Palma for his “superior musical knowledge in playing the guitar”. His first teacher was Pedro Antonio Alemany Palmer, guitarist and composer, contemporary and friend of Miguel Llobet and Andrés Segovia, followed by Antonio Gomez Melters (Barcelona, 1839 – Capdellá, 20.5.1908). He studied harmony and composition with the musician and composer D. Antonio Noguera.
Much of his guitar work was based on popular Catalan/Majorca folk music. While less famous in the classical guitar world, Bartolomé Calatayud stopped producing some of the most enjoyable and
exciting pieces he wrote for classical guitarists of different abilities. In his last years he taught many students in Majorca. He died in 1973 at the age of 91
