Les DeMerle shared a lesson and demonstration video he created over 40 years ago. I’m editing this video into a series of lessons, about 5 mins each. In this video Part 1 , titled “Rudiments Applied around the Drum Kit”, Les is playing a combination of rudiments that he uses in the concept of soloing. These rudiments are applied around the drum kit and one combination is a half roll and a half paradiddle. This technique allows for efficient flow between the snare and the toms. Enjoy!
