Happy New Year!
I hope a lot of you made resolutions to work on producing your own music, so hopefully you're here to get started! Today we're going to make a track from scratch in Soundtrap using only the free features. This video will move a little fast if you've never used music production software before, but should be at a good level if you're just learning to create music with your own homemade loops and MIDI sequences. All you'll need to follow along is a computer (you could do this on a tablet or phone, but I'll be using terms associated with the computer version, specifically with a Windows keyboard).
This is a continuation of my new series on music production using free tools, so if there's a free piece of software you're interested in seeing me explore, demonstrate, and react to, please let me know in the comments! So far I've done this and BandLab (spoilers: I prefer BandLab overall). There's an ENORMOUS amount of free tools out there to help you get started with making music, and I know all the expensive stuff I'll use can be daunting to a beginner. A lot of pros often say "You can do this on a laptop with free software" but I honestly never see them put their money where their mouth is, so I'm here to give it a shot!
