Challenging myself to write 5 lines over this ii V using ONLY 8th note triplets.
Can it be done??
I love placing these restrictions on myself. It is important to note that I would never memorize these and try to play them in my solos (and you shouldn’t either!). It’s simply an exercises to try to do a lot with a very restrictive idea. It makes me think in a different way and that’s valuable to me.
This first one plays off of the idea of the b9 in the second bar and how you can create cool voice led lines using it. Also trying to start on different parts of the triplet and finishing up with some chromatic approach tones over the I chord.
