How does the Solo model compare to the Universal?The Universal offers a traditional trumpet sound with a warm tone quality (thanks to the phosphor bronze flare). The tighter bell shape provides you with very well defined note targets.
It’s lovely and rich sounding on the soft side. When you step on the gas it brightens up a lot, while keeping a thick core.
The Solo model basically gives you more of everything. More sound, a broader projection and a wide range of tone colors. It is the warmer, broader sounding of the two.On the soft side it’s even more rich and creamy, while still having access to bright and shiny tone qualities when you step on the gas.
