LWA $300 Unemployment Benefits California | Clearing Up 7 Myths & 1 Way To See If You’re Phase 2

I'll be clearing up 7 myths and some confusion about the extra $300 unemployment benefits focusing on California provided by the LWA (Lost wages assistance program).
Check out my earlier videos on both the PEUC and FED-ED extension.
Many people on Unemployment in California don't know or don't remember if they are part of phase 1 or phase 2, I'll go over one possible way to see if you're phase 2. Everyone who is on a PUA claim and will be among the first to get the extra $300.
1. No Lump Sum - We didn't get the $900 in a lump sum like the CA EDD said we would, instead they seem to be rolling it out slowly even for those who are in phase 1, so don't worry if you didn't get the first retroactive payment of $300 yet. Check your UI Online account - claims history go to the week ending August 1st, to the right click transactions, that is where you will see if you've been paid the extra $300.
2. Even though we are getting the payments starting this week, it is not a payment for this week it is retroactive for the week ending August 1st.
3. Getting the payment is not tied in to when you certify for unemployment benefits, you can get your LWA $300 unemployment payment at any time.
4. Some articles and new sources said we might only have enough for 3 weeks of funding but it is confirmed, there is at least 5 weeks of LWA payments that California is approved for! We don't yet know how long it will take to issue these payments or if they will continue to be paid week by week or if we'll get the remainder as a lump sum.
5. If your weekly benefit amount is above $100 but working caused you to drop the amount you are paid below $100 in unemployment you do qualify for the additional $300.
6. If having taxes withheld from your weekly benefit amount causes it to drop below $100 (but it is higher than $100 to before taxes are taken out) you do still qualify for the extra $100 in unemployment.
7. We will owe federal taxes on the $300 provided by the LWA (Lost Wages Assistance program) the CA EDD is not able to withhold those for us so save some away in a high interest savings account for tax time.
Phase 2 will begin to get their self certification paperwork starting September 15th, send it back quickly!
The wording for work search requirements may hold a key for people on regular UI claims (regular unemployment claims). If it says "and look for work each week" and you are not on a PUA, PEUC or FED-ED extended benefit claim, that might mean you are part of phase 2.
