Hello dear harminica players from all around the world! I really hope you are doing well. Today I want to share with you something special. Something I have been wanting to do for a long time but I was so busy that I didn't have the time to study note by note each one of these two songs I am presenting to you on today´s 6th episode of the Marcos Cabrera Harmonica Podcast dedicated to Blues Chromatic Players Rod Piazza and Mark Hummel.
Both West Coast well rounded chromatic players with a unique sound. Both of them being influenced directly by the master and pioneer George ``Harmonica´´ Smith, the only difference is that Rod Piazza worked, recorded and toured with George for a significant time. These tunes belongs to a small collection of records my mother bought me when she travelled to the US, I begged her to buy some cheap CD Baby used records. And some of those records were Rod Piazza´s ``California Blues´´, and Mark Hummel´s ``Heart of Chicago´´.

Started studying on my own just trying to play along with some of the chromatic songs from this record. I even recorded my first album and included some third position chromatic themes and solos that you can listen in my Bob Marley´s bluesy cover of the song ``Jamming´´ and an original minor funk blues named after ``Funky Feeling´´ that you can listen in these links:
