Hey guitar enthusiasts, welcome! In this video, I’ll be playing a beautiful rendition of Mary, Did You Know?—specifically, Kathy Mattea's version. You can find all the notes and tabs for the picking and strumming on my website. This song uses a range of chords, with the trickiest being the B7, but don’t worry—there are no barre chords! I'll share tips to make those chord transitions smooth, like pivoting from E minor to B7.

We’ll start with a simple intro using chords E minor, D, C, and B7. I'll guide you through the verses and bridge, offering easy and more advanced ways to play. If you’re not comfortable with some of the chord shapes, like E minor 7 or A minor 7, I’ll provide simpler alternatives.

Throughout, I’ll emphasize timing and rhythm, showing you how to incorporate syncopated strumming and picking patterns to bring the song to life. I’ll also discuss how to enhance dynamics, especially during the song’s powerful bridge.
