This is a recording of an etude a high school freshman is auditioning with, posted for feedback on Reddit. I wanted to help, so I’ve transposed the piece into all 12 keys to support more varied practice. I didn’t compose this etude but believe that learning it in different keys is incredibly helpful for building skill and confidence with challenging passages. Here is the link to download the pdf:

Tips for Practicing This Etude:
Practice in All 12 Keys: Playing the etude in every key helps you get comfortable with new fingerings and strengthens overall musicianship. Some keys will be easier; others will challenge you, which is part of the learning process.
Double Tonguing: Use double-tonguing on many of the sixteenth notes for smoother, faster articulation.
Focus on Phrasing: Rather than obsessing over each note, emphasize getting the phrasing right. This will make the piece more musical and expressive.
Start Slow: Play as slowly as you need to get it right first, then gradually increase speed. Accurate, controlled playing is the goal.
Good luck, and enjoy the journey of mastering this etude!
In the coming future I will be sharing more exercises, drills, and etudes regularly, so please like and subscribe for more!
