In this jazz tutorial, Randy Hunter at https://beginningsax.com takes you through 2 steps for creating melodic connections in your improvised jazz solos. Using a few bars of the chord progression to the jazz standard, All the Things You Are, you'll learn how to become less dependent on the the roots of the chords as you create phrases that are connected using guide tones.
These exercises establish a foundation for more complex sounds that can be explored in my lesson series called One Exercise All Chords. In this series, you'll learn how to expand these simple exercises to include flat 9's and neighbor tones. Here's a link to the series on my website: https://beginningsax.com/product/one-exercise-all-chords/
