"Might As Well Walk"-East Virginia Studios (Official Single)
This song was written the complete opposite of the way that I generally write. I kept hearing a riff in my head, so I used my acoustic guitar to figure it out. I recorded it so that I wouldn't forget. Then I looped it several times so that I could jot down a few lyric ideas and toy with a melody. I wrote it all out and decided to record a demo of the vocal melody so I wouldn't forget it.
Afterwards, I thought "Dang..I really like that...but its too plain jane to keep it that way." So I added tambourine, then a little bass., then it turned into a whole song. All I had to do was add a backing vocal track and mix it.
This one is from a new idea I've had from listening to a bunch of books on tape about some of my long lost guitar heroes. I hate the fact that I'm too young to have seen the days of the 45 (7" vinyl singles). So I decided to release my next batch of songs, probably 10 to 15, in an A-Side/B-Side format. Should be out every week or every 2 weeks starting March 15th with "Might As Well Walk", and its B-Side "In This Town".
