MMAG - Carnegie Laureate Gala Spotlight - Laura McCormick

Laureates Gala, Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall - performers from many countries sit down in or interviews with James Welch. Today's spotlight is on Laura McCormick.

Laura McCormick lives in Brisbane, Australia. Her journey with the Arts began at the age of 3, with dance lessons. She commenced piano lessons at the age of 7 and has
studied under the tutelage of Miss Sonya Visser since 2019. This year, she has also been studying AMEB
Theory of Music with Dr. Lisa Cheney. Having won the International Prominent Pianists Festival this
year, she will be performing at Carnegie Hall in April, 2024. After graduating Year 12 this year, she will be
studying a Bachelor of Music, specializing in Piano Performance, at the Queensland Conservatorium of
Music from 2024. Laura hopes to become a concert pianist and travel around the world, sharing her passion
for music.
