There’s this man I know. I want him the way rain wants to fall, the way words want to be read. I want his lips, his hands, his arms. He touches me without touching me. My longing for him is like a bad cough that never goes away no matter how hard I try to cure it.
Of all the people my heart could long for, it chose someone who didn’t see me or have enough room in his own heart to love me.
Loving him is the most beautiful and painful thing I’ve ever done. I’m addicted to him.
I can turn him to poetry but I cannot make him love me.
I’ll just close my heart and kill what I feel for him. But does unrequited love die or does it make you a monster?
