The new mom, whose mother is Chinese, Taiwanese and Mongolian and her father African American, says her neighborhood was predominantly black. In school, Apryl says she was overwhelmed after being teased and picked on for looking different. One of her most horrific experiences was when a classmate tried to chop off her hair.
Tatyana Ali shared a similar story earlier this year when she said she was teased for having a different texture of hair.
