As a bass teacher, one of the things I think is overlooked by many players is how important developing proper posture with your plucking hand is to playing fast and comfortably while preventing injury in the future. A lot of players develop a posture where they are choking off the tendons in their wrist from moving freely and this can lead to tendonitis, carpal tunnel syndrome or cubital tunnel syndrome, and a lack of speed when playing.
Whether you're playing fast or slow, you shouldn't feel tension in your arm, wrist or shoulder.

In this lesson, I'll show you how to get a good relaxed posture that will make playing comfortable and allow you to build speed. Just remember the answer to playing bass faster is never to tense up!
