Experimental Live Beats #1 w/ Maschine Plus & RMX-1000 #shorts
Happy #jamuary2024 everybody! As always, huge shoutout to @truecuckoo for initiating this brilliant annual hashtag exploration so many years ago! It has helped me discover so many amazing creators and artists and continues to inspire me with new ideas to begin each and every year!
In lieu of my usual weekly “Nature & Music” series programming on Tuesdays, I’ll be doing a mini series for the month of January. This year I’ll be exploring a perfomance concept I’ve been pondering and aiming to sort out for future live shows. It involves sampling my beats and arrangements sans drums, then also sampling a drums only track and linking the pad trigger to the main track. So when playing one, they are both in sync, but this way I can sort of mute/unmute the drum layer at any point so I then have the option to improvise and finger drum live.
Also something has become an annual tradition for me… new year =new hoodie! Shoutout to @LarryCarlson for the super dope surreal Astronomica series that’s represented on this hoodie. I’m super happy with this purchase as I’ve had a lot of really poor quality all-over-print hoodies over the years but this one is top notch and I’m supremely stoked on it!
