At the end of Dylan’s “Don’t Think Twice, It’s Alright”, he plays a harmonica solo over the entire 32 bar verse progression. Dylan mixes two and three note harmonica chords with single notes and three and four hole bent notes on harp. He does this while continuing to play a Travis picking pattern over the verse chord progression on guitar. Notice how he’s playing in cross harp style over chords that are not just the typical I, IV, V chords. By looking closely at Bob Dylan’s guitar and harmonica technique we have the option of incorporating some of his technique into our own style of playing.
