John John on PGs: That Roster Cut Is Very Much Needed
http://www.vladtv.com - John John Da Don spoke with Battle Rap Journalist Michael Hughes about Norbes' reasons for making some cuts to the current Proving Grounds roster, in this clip from his exclusive interview with VladTV.
John John thinks that it's about time cuts were made, because at this point he feels like any aspiring Battle Rapper can get a chance to compete on the Proving Grounds. He recalled his days coming up through the PG's, and how he, and everyone else from his class were specially selected, and had to work hard to prove themselves in order to progress to be granted a spot on the mainstage events. John also supported Norbes' reason for cutting off people who don't respect the contracts laid out for them, by choosing to battle on many other smaller leagues for a quick check.
John John believes that anyone who does this is foolish and is going against the plans that the URL has laid out for them. If a battler is being offered a huge check and opportunity to really propel their career by battling elsewhere, then he understands their decision to accept battles outside of Smack/URL. However, if they are doing it to simply collect a small check, then he thinks they are actually hurting their career and lowering their stock in the long run.
