http://www.vladtv.com - Rapper Rapsody recently sat down on the VladTV couch to discuss her role on Kendrick Lamar's "To Pimp A Butterfly," and why their latest collaborative effort "Complexion (A Zulu Love)" is so important.

The "light-skinned/dark-skinned" debate has been around since the North Carolina native was a kid, and unfortunately Rapsody succumbed to the pressure at an early age. "It's definitely something I dealt with growing up," said Rapsody, who never wanted to go to the beach growing up because she didn't "wanna get too dark." Sadly Rapsody - who is the only featured artist with a rap verse on "TPAB" - faces it with the new generation as well. Whenever she takes her niece shopping for a doll, she never wants the Black Barbie because she feels it's too "ugly."

See what else the "Beauty And The Beast" emcee had to say about colorism in the clip, as well as another artist she wants to collaborate with on TDE and what happened on January 11th, 2015 that changed her life forever.
