http://www.vladtv.com - Linking up with DJ Heat, VladTV delivers another exclusive with The-Dream. Here the "Love King" reveals probing insights into the challenge of marketing to the urban music-buying community.

When questioned about sluggish sales affecting R&B music, The-Dream affirms, "We do buy things, but we buy them a different way. We have to be marketed to a different way. We don't conform as quickly." The platinum crooner goes on to discuss how expensive technology may also hinder urban album sales.

The Grammy award-winning singer claims his demographic is focused on other things. "Nobody is sitting at home in front of the computer waiting for your record to drop," he states. His marketing is more of a grassroots, hand-to-hand approach.

Dream believes the unwillingness of R&B fans to quickly conform to technological advances is another reason why R&B sales don't match those of the Pop audience.

The convo then turns to crossover Country queen Taylor Swift and alludes to other Pop artists. "Those Pop artists are just doing what they're doing off digital sales. But that's the culture of what it is. And their fanbase is in that culture."

Check out the full clip to learn more about his upcoming EPs Crown/Jewel. The multi-talented artist also speaks on writing for people like Beyoncé, Kanye and Rihanna, the creative process, and the motivation his mother provided for his career.
