What Your Drum Teacher Might Not Have Told You (Beginner Tips)
This one is for drum students who're just starting out. It's a tough time to be a new drummer: there's so much information out there that your teacher might assume you know more than you actually do about the kit, but the sheer volume of information can be intimidating and you might not know where to start. Not to mention you're way too busy trying to figure out other critical things about playing, like a proper stick grip.
Here are a couple things that I've found useful to point out to my students about the drumset itself. Some are a little generalized: my intention is to help you be aware of what you don't know not necessarily to teach it to you here, but so you have an idea of what to find out!
