From the sounds of a meadow grasshopper to a love song to the Large Hadron Collider, this album is a collection of modular recordings from the past 7 years or so. “Modular Studies Vol. 1” is being released this year, 2019, as a free download in celebration of my 40th anniversary of making electronic music.

Much of the music is appropriately primitive, “one take” single tracks simply transferred from digital tape as it was recorded, some were built up from multitracks and extensively edited.

Apart from the location recording at the begining of "I remember Solaris" all the sounds were created on modular synthesisers.

The album is a celebration of all the designers and builders of modular synthesisers, from the electronic dark ages to today. Dedicated to Grant Richter, Cary Grace, John Blacet and Robin Wood.
