Gather your rosebuds while you may. Life is short so seize the day.
What does it feel like to sing happy songs on the day of loss? At least I know how it feels like to realize I have been the only person my student talks to during a normal week.

A Little Unexpected is a 4-part program that revolves around music performance artists as they recall and reflect on how their musical encounters with people have sparked change in themselves or others around them.

This project is inspired by a recent ordeal that left me questioning the value of my work as an artist. Having my workflow trivialized and concerns downplayed for 'quick-solutions' left me searching for the point of my profession. I am comforted by my long-time colleagues during the course of creating this series. They, and I, have these reflections to share.
