8th edition of Ananda Dhwani Music Trusts Whitefield Music Festival
Before we share the details about WMF 2024 we would like to share a note about Ananda Dhwani – its genesis and activities.
About Ananda Dhwani
The Ananda Dhwani Music Trust, Bangalore, is a not-for-profit organization that seeks to promote, and thereby preserve Indian Classical Music and Dance. Started in 2011, the trust was formally registered in 2017 and since then there has been no looking back.
The primary goal of the trust is to bring forth the joys of Indian classical music and dance, through world class performances, as well as create a platform to nurture upcoming talent in this spectrum. Through this initiative, Ananda Dhwani hopes to keep the upcoming generations rooted to their heritage and culture.
The seeds of ‘Ananda Dhwani’ were sown by the renowned Sitarist, Late Pandit Deepak Choudhury, one of the icons of the Maihar Gharana and a notable disciple of the renowned sitar maestro Bharat Ratna Pandit Ravi Shankar.
Deepakji’s music lives on, immortalized in recordings and cherished memories. We find solace in the belief that his soul has transcended, finding eternal peace in the realms where melodies and rhythm intertwine. May his soul rest in the celestial embrace, forever guiding us through the timeless melodies he shared and the profound lessons he imparted.
The seeds sown by Deepakji are being nurtured by his disciple, Pt. Prabir Bhattacharya and his students. Prabirji is the Founding President of the trust.
The name has been derived from the raga Anandadhwani, a composition by Deepakji. The signature Music you hear is a composition by Deepakji for Sathya Sai Babas 80th birthday in 2006.
