"Nabataea" is an original Arabian Inspired Ambient composition influenced by the lost desert kingdom of the Nabataeans — the creators of Petra. This piece blends ancient Middle Eastern scales, atmospheric textures, and slow-burning harmonies to evoke the spiritual stillness and mystery of the sandstone temples, silent caravans, and moonlit deserts. The composition is based on the Maqam Hijaz scale and I experimented with instruments like Oud, Tar, Ney flute and Riq blended with desert wind sound and soft synths.
???? **About the Nabataeans**:
The Nabataeans or Nabateans were an ancient Arab people who inhabited northern Arabia and the southern Levant. Their settlements—most prominently the assumed capital city of Raqmu (present-day Petra, Jordan) —gave the name Nabatene (Ancient Greek: Ναβατηνή, romanized: Nabatēnḗ) to the Arabian borderland that stretched from the Euphrates to the Red Sea. The Nabateans emerged as a distinct civilization and political entity between the 4th and 2nd centuries BC with their kingdom centered around a loosely controlled trading network that brought considerable wealth and influence across the ancient world. This composition is a tribute to their legacy. (Disclaimer few lines below about historic accuracy etc)
