My name is Nahlah, and I’m based out of Atlanta, Georgia.
I’ve been trying to learn bass for about a year now.
Before finding bass lessons with April, I had an instructor I’d go to once a week.
And when I would go, I wasn’t really feeling a connection.
I would leave the lessons like, “What the heck did we just learn?”
So, I took it upon myself to learn on YouTube and TikTok. Really any platform I could find.
So, upon doing that I found April.
We don’t see a lot of female representation playing bass and for her to be a black woman on top of it was like, “Whoa, let me find out more about her. Does she teach lessons? I need to know.”
I saw that she taught Bass Lessons with April, and I was like, “Let me sign up right away!”
It’s crazy like, joining Bass Lessons with April, I feel more connected to April and her teachings than the in-person instructor!
April’s so personable, she breaks down really complex techniques and music theory and makes it fun and really accessible to learn.
At the same time, she throws in really cool and unique songs that you can play at you develop your other skill.
Now I have the structure to knowing exactly what I’m supposed to be learning and I’ve improved so much as a bass player!
And I get to write this review to help you learn what I've learned.
So, now, I’m defiantly a bass baddie, you can’t tell me otherwise!
If you’re considering joining, do what I did: run don’t walk and join now. You’ll be glad you did!
