In this video, I present an update to a previous post of mine comparing the classic iv–V–i cadence with a cadence using the so-called "Neapolitan Sixth" chord. In this type of cadence, the chord on the fifth degree (or more often the cadence formula I64 – V7 – i) is preceded not by a minor fourth degree chord, but by a chord built on the flattened second degree, in first inversion (bII6).
