➡️ I was really mistaken about No Doubt, and my ignorance led me to believe they were just another pop band I'd hear on the radio occasionally. I started receiving requests for "Spiderwebs" when I began covering ska punk bands on the channel, and I finally put 2 and 2 together to realize No Doubt were a huge force behind the ska wave in the 90s. Wow! I enjoyed reacquainting myself with the band listening through the opening track from 1995's "Tragic Kingdom" and realized I've truly slept on bassist Tony Kanal. I discuss how he strikes a perfect balance between serving the song and making his presence known, my theory on what technique he's using during the intro, his lyrical bass fills that contrast the guitar parts during the bridge, an analysis on his bass line development throughout the song, and much more. I'm bummed I wrote this band off years ago...???????? ???? ????????
