“Just My Imagination” peaked at #1 on the
Billboard Hot 100,becoming their third song
to do so!!!!!????????????????????
Featured on their April 22nd,1971
album “Sky’s The Limit,” it featured
founders Eddie Kendricks singing
the main lead,and Paul Williams singing
the first part of the bridge,”Every night
on my knees,I pray.”
The other Temptations on background vocals
with Paul were fellow founders Otis Williams
and Melvin Franklin,alongside Dennis Edwards,
completing the group’s third and Grammy-winning lineup.
In addition to becoming their first platinum record,
it was the final hit song to feature Eddie Kendricks
before he left the group the same week in April 1971 to start his successful solo career,shortly before the
group received the platinum record.
