Debabrata Biswas is one of the most well-known Rabindra Sangeet singers of all times. His renditions of Tagore Songs are still chart busters and most listened and loved by all. Debabrata Biswas was born in the year 1911 in Barishal which is now a part of Bangladesh. This was the time when King George V was visiting India. Thus his parents nicknamed him George. He was popularly known as George Biswas or George da. Debabrata Biswas' early renditions of Tagore Songs show a more robust full bodied emotionally rich content that strictly followed the rules and norms of Rabindra Sangeet tradition. Somehow from the late sixties Debabrata Biswas started changing his singing style and started introducing unconventional arrangements for his renditions of Tagore Songs.
