"Blood In The Water" is a new wave inspired, cinematic, dark pop number. Taking inspiration from bands like RIDE, Depeche Mode (as always), Jawbox, The Beloved, and My Bloody Valentine; "Blood in the Water" is filled with urgent synths, ethereal guitars, soaring vocals, and a polished production, "Blood" pushes the boundaries of what PTIM has done before. The music is very danceable, but also filled with a sense of longing and melancholia. It evokes the bittersweet feeling of being the last one on the beach, delirious from a long night of partying, laughing about some memories of the evening while regretting others, walking barefoot in the water as the warm sun rises and kisses your face.

Lyrically and thematically, "Blood" deals with the breakdown of a relationship and the struggle for communication. What sets us apart in our individuality can be the same thing that tears us apart, or the same thing that brings us together. The themes of the song are universal, especially in 2021.

"Blood in the Water" was written by Baltimore, MD Singer/Songwriter/Guitarist Chris Frantz, and was mastered by Mat Lefler-Schulman at Mobtown Studios. Lefler-Schulman is a studio veteran with 25 years of Mastering-Engineer experience. He has worked with Beach House, Future Islands, The Dismemberment Plan, John Baptiste, and Ice Cube, just to name a few. With multiple Billboard Top Ten charting artists to his credit, and having worked with numerous Grammy Award-Winning acts, his knowledge and professionalism were key components to bringing out the best elements of this single and truly making it pop.
