I literally automatically made this face in the thumbnail while humming the melody of Burritos To Go. Also, I’d thought you’d like to know some lore about me: I got braces last September. 2 weeks into school. It was music class. We just got a new piece: “Overlords” by I forget. Well anyways I try playing the trumpet for the first time with braces and…it hurt! Really badly! Plus I sounded horrible! Like, my atriculation took a hit, and so did my tone, my range, my EVERYTHING except for my sight reading but my sight reading was horrifying to begin with. At the time, I was literally writing in the note names of every single note. …Yeah. So anyways halfway through music class my music teacher stopped the class and went over to me to see what was happening. Apparently I was actually full-on crying and I wasn’t even aware of that myself. Dang. But yeah. Braces suck. But they look pretty! And it took me 4 months to get to a point where I sounded better than before I got braces. When I started this challenge back in November, braces still affected me a lot but I was so proud of the progress I had made. So that’s why I sounded bad, despite having played trumpet for a little over a year at that point, and why I was really proud of little improvements I’ve made. I have this clip of me playing the trumpet from January 2024, and it’s so much better than the ones at the end of 2024, because I didn’t have braces back then.
