In this video I show you how to play "Everything Put Together Falls Apart" by Paul Simon from his self titled first album. It's a lovely song and I'm in the Highlands of Iceland to show you just how to play it.

I give you the guitar chords so you can play along, but more importantly, I tell you how to feel what is in the song so you can really play it. It's possible for you to play the song like some cheap club singer, but with my guidance you can play like Paul Simon himself... Perhaps even better.

The guitar I am using is a cheap Yamaha acoustic, because you don't bring your best instrument into nature. I learned this the hard way unfortunately, and destroyed my prized Lowden guitar last October. You live and learn.

You want to study the chords I have written here and play only the notes mentioned, since I've crossed out the notes that you don't want to play. The music is played fingerstyle and each note is where it should be, playing all the strings will give you messy chords that don't make sense harmonically.
