Using the Amen Break beat to build our speed chops since playing fast is useless unless we can do it not only in time but also as a groove. Our requirement as bass players is that we can't just play fast. We have to make sure heads can bob and butts can shake with whatever we are playing.

Build up to the opening speed of this video by practicing to the 0.75 playback speed of the provided backing drum track. Make sure to keep it articulate and slow it down. Once you start to attempt the normal speed of the beat DO NOT STOP when you mess up! Keep playing and try and stay on beat regardless of the flubbed notes.

PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE and then more PRACTICE will get you to the correct speed WHILE BEING IN TIME.

Remember to have fun through all of this because that's the whole reason you are even playing in the first place and HAPPY SHREDDING!!!!
