POKEY LAFARGE Was Born ANDREW HEISSLER In Bloomington, Illinois, 1983, And Got His Nickname, "Pokey," From His Mother.
Starting On Acoustic Guitar And Tenor Banjo Before He Was A Teenager, At 16 He Switched To Mandolin. He Adopted The name "POKEY LAFARGE," Because He Felt It Captured The Spirit Of What He Was Looking For Musically As He Moved Around The Country.
At Seventeen He Was Busking Streetcorners, Sidewalks, & Pedestrian Malls On The West Coast, Eventually Winding His Way To Asheville, North Carolina, Where He met RYAN KOENIG & JOEY GLYNN, Who, With ADAM HOSKINS, Would later Become POKEY's Backup Combo, THE SOUTH CITY THREE.
I Chose The Song "Fuck Me Up," From His Pre-Lockdown 2020 Album, "Rock Bottom Rhapsody" Because It's Just Plain Fun!
